Insulin like growth factor 2 (IGF2) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions in development and growth. Missense mutations, synonymous mutations, frameshift insertions, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers such as stomach cancer, colon cancer, and skin cancer.

IGF2 is altered in 0.69% of all cancers with colon adenocarcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma, cutaneous melanoma, and rectal adenocarcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].
