NCI Definition: A malignant germ cell tumor arising from the testis. It is believed that it is derived from the sexually undifferentiated embryonic gonad. Treatment with radiotherapy is highly successful when the tumor is diagnosed in localized stages, which represents the majority of presentations of seminoma.
There are 2 clinical trials for testicular seminoma, of which 2 are open and 0 are completed or closed. Of the trials that contain testicular seminoma as an inclusion criterion, 1 is phase 3 (1 open) and 1 is no phase specified (1 open).
Observation and surgery are the most common interventions in testicular seminoma clinical trials.
