Succinate dehydrogenase complex, subunit A, flavoprotein (Fp) (SDHA) is a gene that encodes a catalytic protein that is a member of succinate-ubiquinone oxidoreductase. The complex participates in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, frameshift deletions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and stomach cancer.

SDHA is altered in 2.60% of all cancers with lung adenocarcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, breast invasive ductal carcinoma, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and bladder urothelial carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].

SDHA GENIE Cases - Top Diseases

The most common alterations in SDHA are SDHA Mutation (1.36%), SDHA Amplification (1.23%), SDHA A449V (0.52%), SDHA Loss (0.08%), and SDHA Nonsense (0.06%) [3].
