APEX1
APEX nuclease (multifunctional DNA repair enzyme) 1 (APEX1) is a gene that encodes an apurinic/apyrimidinic (AP) endonuclease that participates in repair of AP sites, a type of DNA damage. Missense mutations, synonymous mutations, frameshift deletions, nonsense mutations, and frameshift insertions are observed in cancers such as colon cancer, ovarian cancer, and stomach cancer.
