CREB-1, CREB

cAMP responsive element binding protein 1 (CREB1) is a gene that encodes a protein that is a transcription factor in the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. Fusions, missense mutations, silent mutations, and nonsense mutations are observed in cancers such as upper aerodigestive tract cancer, breast cancer, and central nervous system cancers.

CREB1 is altered in 0.08% of all cancers with clear cell sarcoma of soft tissue, colorectal adenocarcinoma, sarcoma, NOS, unknown, and poorly differentiated carcinoma, NOS having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].
