Glutamate receptor, metabotropic 3 (GRM3) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions in inhibition of the cyclic AMP cascade. Missense mutations, synonymous mutations, and nonsense mutations are observed in cancers such as stomach cancer, colon cancer, and esophageal cancer.

GRM3 is altered in 4.42% of all cancers with cutaneous melanoma, lung adenocarcinoma, melanoma, colon adenocarcinoma, and breast invasive ductal carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].
