Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 (LRP5) is a gene that encodes a transmembrane low-density lipoprotein receptor protein that also functions as a co-receptor with Frizzled family proteins to transduce signals by Wnt proteins. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, frameshift deletions and insertions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as cervical cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.
