Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor, alpha (NFKBIA) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions in the inhibition of protein complexes that are involved in inflammatory responses. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, frameshift deletions and insertions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and lung cancer.

NFKBIA is altered in 1.39% of all cancers with lung adenocarcinoma, breast invasive ductal carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, squamous cell lung carcinoma, and invasive breast carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].

NFKBIA GENIE Cases - Top Diseases

The most common alterations in NFKBIA are NFKBIA Amplification (0.78%), NFKBIA Loss (0.09%), NFKBIA D31N (0.02%), NFKBIA L148fs (0.02%), and NFKBIA E6K (0.03%) [3].
