PLK1
Polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as a serine/threonine protein kinase. The protein regulates several processes involved in the cell cycle, including centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, cohesion removal, the inactivation of anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome inhibitors, and cytokinesis. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions and insertions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and stomach cancer.
