Succinate dehydrogenase complex, subunit B, iron sulfur (lp) (SDHB) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as Complex II of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. The protein carries electrons from FADH to CoQ to oxidize succinate. Missense, nonsense, and silent mutations are observed in cancers such as lung cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.

SDHB is altered in 0.50% of all cancers with lung adenocarcinoma, breast invasive ductal carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma, and bladder urothelial carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].

The most common alterations in SDHB are SDHB Mutation (0.43%), SDHB Loss (0.06%), SDHB Amplification (0.05%), SDHB Nonsense (0.04%), and SDHB Y147C (0.05%) [3].
