Tropomyosin 3 (TPM3) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions in providing stability to actin filaments. The protein also regulates the access of other actin-binding proteins. Fusions, missense mutations, nonsense mutations, and silent mutations are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and skin cancer.

TPM3 is altered in 0.11% of all cancers with lung adenocarcinoma, sarcoma, NOS, breast invasive ductal carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, and dedifferentiated liposarcoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].
