V-akt murine thymoma viral oncogene homolog 2 (AKT3) is a gene that encodes a protein serine/threonine kinase that plays a role in insulin and growth factor signaling. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and stomach cancer.

AKT3 is altered in 1.24% of all cancers with lung adenocarcinoma, breast invasive ductal carcinoma, colon adenocarcinoma, endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma, and invasive breast carcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].

AKT3 GENIE Cases - Top Diseases

The most common alterations in AKT3 are AKT3 Mutation (0.83%), AKT3 Amplification (0.31%), AKT3 Loss (0.08%), AKT3 E17K (0.03%), and AKT3 L51R (0.02%) [3].
