CD79b molecule, immunoglobulin-associated beta (CD79B) is a gene that encodes the Ig-beta protein. The protein functions as a component of the B-cell antigen that is a member of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor multimeric protein complex. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, frameshift deletions and insertions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as hematopoietic and lymphoid cancers, intestinal cancer, and lung cancer.

CD79B is altered in 1.09% of all cancers with breast invasive ductal carcinoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified, invasive breast carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and colon adenocarcinoma having the greatest prevalence of alterations [3].

CD79B GENIE Cases - Top Diseases

The most common alterations in CD79B are CD79B Amplification (0.62%), CD79B Mutation (0.44%), CD79B Loss (0.07%), CD79B Y196H (0.04%), and CD79B X183_splice (0.04%) [3].
