Associated Genetic Biomarkers

Overview

NCI Definition: A carcinoma that arises from the penis. Risk factors include phimosis and human papillomavirus infection. The majority of penile carcinomas are squamous cell carcinomas. The most frequent clinical presentation is an irregular mass in the glans of the penis. Treatment includes surgical management and radiation therapy. [1]

Penile carcinomas most frequently harbor alterations in TP53, KMT2D, PIK3CA, KMT2C, and FAT1 [2].

Most Commonly Altered Genes in Penile Carcinoma

TP53 Mutation, KMT2D Mutation, KMT2C Mutation, CDKN2A Mutation, and PIK3CA Mutation are the most common alterations in penile carcinoma [2].
