STAG2
Overview
Stromal antigen 2 (STAG2) is a gene that codes for cohesin subunit SA-2,a subunit of the cohesin complex, which is involved in many cellular processes, such as DNA double-strand break repair and chromatid segregation during mitosis (PMID: 19886810). Mutations in STAG2 have been observed in MDS, AML, bladder cancer, and other cancers (PMID: 24854081; PMID: 23443460). Inactivation of cohesin may be a cause of aneuploidy in cancer (Gene 2014; PMID: 24854081).
