Overview

NCI Definition: A carcinoma arising from the bladder epithelium. Approximately 90% of the bladder carcinomas are transitional cell carcinomas. The remainder are squamous cell carcinomas, adenocarcinomas and small cell neuroendocrine carcinomas. [1]

Bladder carcinomas most frequently harbor alterations in TP53, KDM6A, KMT2D, FGFR3, and ARID1A [2].
